The teacher
Built by Matthew George.
I’m an English teacher based in Edinburgh. I ran free English learning projects from 2020–2024, and I’m rebuilding MettaEnglish for 2026 with a sharper focus on real conversation, professional English, confidence, and practical feedback.
I teach English like it matters: clearly, directly, and with respect. Metta means loving-kindness in action — not soft branding, but useful help, honest correction, and patient practice.

Why MettaEnglish exists
Real English for unreal times.
The world is loud. Much of it is fake. Everyone is surrounded by generated words, copied opinions, fake confidence, and language that sounds impressive but says very little.
MettaEnglish is about recovering something simple and powerful: your real voice in English. Clear thought. Real conversation. Useful words. Honest feedback.
Metta means loving-kindness in action. Here, that means direct help, respectful clarity, and serious practice. Kind, not soft. Useful, not decorative.
